Graylark Raises $10.7 Million to Build Raven

Graylark has raised a $10.7 million seed round led by General Catalyst, with backing from AI Grant and participation from Alexandr Wang, Recorded Future, and an incredible group of investors and operators.

We started Graylark in a one-bedroom apartment in Boston. I slept on the couch, my brothers shared the bed, and after work we spent our nights experimenting with applied AI.

One of those experiments became GeoSpy.

GeoSpy began as a simple image-geolocation demo: upload a photograph and receive a prediction of where it was taken. It reached one million cumulative users in its first three months, but the most important discovery was who began using it.

Investigators showed us that visual geolocation could turn images with no metadata, recognizable landmarks, or obvious context into actionable leads. They also showed us that the need extended beyond answering where an image was captured.

That changed the direction of the company.

What was GeoSpy is now Raven, Graylark's frontline visual intelligence platform. Raven is being built to help investigators determine where an image was captured, identify vehicles from difficult views, assess whether visual content may have been manipulated or synthetically generated, and uncover other signals hidden inside photographs and video.

Our long-term vision is to turn the physical world into real-time search.

This funding will allow us to expand our research team, develop new purpose-built vision models, strengthen our data infrastructure, and bring Raven to more law-enforcement and government organizations.
